2005-06 Hardcourt UD PROMO cards

This is a very scarce unreleased PROMO issue.
Upper Deck made these 2005-06 Hardcourt UD Promo cards for Krause Publications for their use at a major sportscard show. Krause did not attend the show and these cards were never released.

We obtained these cards years later at a major warehouse auction. I have never seen complete sets or even large groups for sale elsewhere. When singles show up on eBay even commons usually ask $1 to $3 each.

1969 Milton Bradley
Baseball Game & Cards

In 1969, Milton Bradley joined APBA and Strat-o-matic and issued their first baseball card board game, then again in 1970 and 1972.
The 1969 (and 1972) baseball games came with several perforated sheets containing a total of (296) unnumbered 2x3 inch cards. The cards were very plain, with a black & white player portrait on front and red and black game outcomes on back. Since the game wasn't sanctioned by Major League Baseball, team logos were removed making the set even duller. And if it wasn't boring enough, each team had a header card with no photo. Interestingly, a MLB Players logo is prominent on the game's scoreboard but they did not endorse the game ???
Luckily the set had it's share of star players like Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron & a REGGIE JACKSON ROOKIE !!!
1969 and 1972 Milton Bradley cards are almost exactly the same.
EXCEPT:
The 1969's red '1's do not have a base
The 1972's red '1's DO have a base.
The following cards did NOT have any red '1's but are 1969's: Agee, Alvis, Braves(Pinch Hitter), Orioles(2nd Base), Cepeda, Haller, Horton(Willie), Howard(Frank), Mazeroski, Mincher, Morton-was NOT in 1972 set, Pepitone, Perez, San Diego Padres(SS).
There are some dice roll differences between the 1969 and 1972 sets.

Baseball card collecting terms (part H-R)

High Numbers - vintage cards were issued in the �50s-�70s in a series. During the baseball season, the largest number of cards were made. As the schedule progressed into September, when there would be less interest in baseball cards , Topps for one, specifically decreased production and hence much less product was available. As a result, a scarcity-factor was created and a premium holds for these first type of "short-printed" cards.

Inserts - special randomly-inserted cards which are not part of the regular set. Many modern inserts are sequentially-numbered and rarer than the card sets into which they are inserted.

O-Pee-Chee / OPC - a subsidiary of Topps, this card issue was produced specifically for distribution in Canada.

Promotional Card - generally referred to as cards issued to show what the product will look like on release and intended to help spur future sales. Often called a "promo" card.

Reprint - cards issued to reproduce the originals. With the current trend of vintage reprints, the new versions have a distinguishing characteristic evidenced by numbering.

Restored - a card or piece of memorabilia which someone has tried to return to a "like-new" condition. A restored card is considered to be of very little value.

Rookie Card - any league-licensed, widely distributed card to feature a player in his first year of trading cards.
