Use these great 1970 Action Films Inc. Super-8mm film cartridges in their original boxes to sharpen your sports skills !!!! Along with the film cartridge you also get the original box and coaching guide booklet. The boxes measure 6-1/2 x 2-3/4 x 1 inch. The cartridges are in like-new condition.

A 6x5 inch hand-held viewer was used to watch the films. The viewer's we have look to be in top shape and have not been used however all parts are present and in solid condition and likely only need a replacement light bulb.

1948 Bowman Football Cards

1948 Bowman Football takes it's place in the early history of football cards. While not as flashy as the 1935 National Chicles football issue the 1948 Bowman Football set had great players in real photographs !

The set was tiny (in both card size and number of cards) containing only 108 smallish 2-1/16" x 2-1/2" inch cards. The honor of top rookie in the set is easily Sammy Baugh and there appear to be no variations in the set.

1969 Topps Stamps

Only inserts in 1961 & 1962, stamps had their own issue in 1969 ! A nickel for a 12-stamp strip plus mini album !!!

The 1969 Topps Stamps set contained (240) 1x1-7/16 inch stamps. Stamps were released in both horizontal & vertical panels with the player's name in a banner. 1974 Stamps, the name was inside an oval.
Topps issued a mini albums to hold complete 10-stamp team sets and the back cover had facsimile autographs of each players.

The 1969 Topps Stamps set is packed with stars: Pete Rose, and Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente & more !!!

Baseball card collecting terms (part D-F)

Die-Cut A special card that differs from a basic card by "Die-Cutting", cutting away portions of the card to create a special design. Most are serially numbered & limited.

Error Card Baseball card history is filled with error cards, many of them very interesting. Hank Aaron is on 2 of my favorite error cards. Aaron's 1956 Topps card action photo shows Aaron sliding home but it is actually Willie Mays not Aaron. Topps again goofed on Aaron's 1957 "reversed negative" card showing Aaron batting left-handed.

"Error Cards" are usually found early in print runs and often corrected. When this correction happens a VARIATION is created. Some variations are extremely interesting and very expensive while others are totally boring and you wonder why they were even made.

Extended Set Also frequently called Update Set or Traded Set.
They are sets issued after the original release to update the regular set with new and traded players.

Facsimile Autograph is an autograph printed on a card to show what the player's actual signature looks like. They are not "real" autographs.

Factory Set are complete sets usually in special boxes produced by the manufacturer. "Hand-Collated Sets" are sets collectors have put together card by card from packs.
