1952 Topps Wings
The 1952 Topps Wings card set holds a unique place in
the history of trading cards. Released by Topps, the set
contained 200 cards featuring various aircraft from around the
world, mostly of those from the Korean War and early Cold War.
The cards featured a wide selection of planes and aircraft,
reflecting the fascination with aviation at time.
Each card had a detailed colored illustration with it's name.
The backs included a "Friend or Foe" quiz along with
specs and description of the aircraft making the cards both
educational and collectible.
In essence, the Topps Wings set captures the spirit of a time when
aviation was advancing and capturing the public's imagination.

Perfect for the team collector!
Marking the 50th anniversary of its 1954 baseball card set, Topps released
this reprint edition that mirrored thier original set with some
differences.
* Cards were in today's standard 2-1/2 by 3-1/2 size
* Cards were on thin glossy stock rather.
* Topps added (8) cards to the set making up for some of the
superstars missed in the original, including Roberto Clemente,
Harmon Killebrew pre-rookies.
* Since Upper Deck had exclusive rights to Ted Williams, the set was
missing both of his cards (#1,#250).
Upper Deck issued 1954 Archives cards for Mickey Mantle and both
missing Ted Williams cards as scarce inserts in their 1994 packs.
* Topps also issued a scarcer gold parallel set with gold facsimile
autographs and team logos. Gold cards were inserted only 1 per pack.
A great way to experience the 1954 Topps set and it's huge rookies
like Hank Aaron, Al Kaline and Ernie Banks without spending $20,000 !!!

Are sports cards valuable ?
Like all collectibles, over time some sports cards go down in value,
others go up and some can even become very valuable.
Card values are based on many factors:
player popularity, scarcity, condition & collector interest.
A card can be scarce but without demand value may not be great.
Q: What are some ways to collect cards ?
* Complete sets by year & issue
* Cards of your favorite player
* Cards of your favorite team "TEAM SETS"
* Rookie cards
* Hall-of-Famer cards
* I even had a girlfriend that collected Don Mossi (checkout his ears),
players whose last name start with "Z", and the Brett brothers George &
Ken (she had a crush on George).
* "TYPE COLLECTING" (everyone should at least do a little of this !)
"Type Collecting"
is collecting at least one of each different "type" of issue.
On scarcer issues you can add a less expensive common
while on others you can select your favorite player or team.
