1948 Bowman Football cards checklist, values and prices.
1948 Bowman Football takes it's place in the early history of football cards.
While not as flashy as the 1935 National Chicles football issue the 1948
Bowman Football set had great players in real photographs !
The set was tiny (in both card size and number of cards) containing only
108 smallish 2-1/16" x 2-1/2" inch cards. The honor of top rookie in the
set is easily Sammy Baugh and there appear to be no variations in the set.

Vintage Boxing cards
Checklist & Values
Like baseball cards, boxing cards have been produced in this country
since the 1880's. First in tobacco products, later in gum and candy.
Unlike baseball cards, boxing cards have been produced in many countries
around the world.
In 1910 Mecca and Hassan tobacco companies put out colorful boxing sets
with names like: Jack Johnson, Jim Jeffries, John L. Sullivan & Jim Corbett.
In 1951 Topps joined in with a fairly large card set they called "Ringside".

Baseball, Football, Basketball & Hockey Memorabilia Cards
It's cool to have a card of your favorite player.
It's even cooler to have your favorite player's jersey or bat.
Well just think how cool it is to have a card of your favorite player
embedded with a piece of his bat or jersey that he used in a real major league game !!!
That's the concept that Upper Deck dazzled the hobby with in 1996. Ever since the
hobby has been in love with Game-Used memorabilia cards and they have become a
staple of sportscard collecting. Originally they were very scarce inserts with
less than 1 every few boxes. Now these insert cards are so popular that
many products include one in every pack.
